Hi! I’m Charissa! - (the "Ch" is pronounced "Sh", like in "champagne"). I’ve been organizing photos and creating photo albums and slideshows for as long as I can remember. I discovered early on that photos tell a story, and when I shared those stories with family and friends, it created deeper connections and stronger relationships. I also realized that having a disorganized photo library made it too time consuming to tell my stories, making it less likely that future generations would see those memories. I coupled my passion for preserving memories, and a deep desire to have ALL THE THINGS organized, to launch Forget Me Not Photos© as a way to help others share their stories. I became a Certified Photo Organizer through The Photo Managers - a community of professionals who are passionate about helping their clients manage their photo collections.
The forget-me-not flower is a tiny blue flower that represents "remembrance." Giving this flower to someone means you truly love and respect them, and it’s a promise to the other person that you will always remember them. It is also the official flower of the Alzheimer’s Society, and a gentle reminder to never forget those who have been lost to the disease. I used the flower in my logo and replaced the center of the flower with a camera lens. It is meant as a reminder to not only capture your story in photos, but to also share them with those you love.
I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin (Hook ’em!) and have lived in The Woodlands, TX with my husband for over 20 years. After a 15-year career in Human Resources, I retired to raise our three children. During that time, I volunteered extensively in our children’s school and the local community. Born with wanderlust, our summer vacations were spent traveling and exploring the world. One of my favorite things is capturing the sights and sounds of different cultures and experiences around the globe and bringing them back in the form of a photo to share with family and friends. My biggest fear is losing my most precious memories, and that is why I became a professional photo organizer.
