What if one of my items is blank, damaged, or cannot be converted?

We do our best to digitize all items, even if that requires fixing a broken tape. However, sometimes items are not able to be digitized. If we discover video, film or audio tapes are blank, we will reprocess to verify they contain no content. The reason we don't offer a refund is because our technicians must run through the entire tape to determine that all of it is blank, which takes time.

Why should I digitize my memories?

You should digitize your memories because they are susceptible to loss, damage and further deterioration. At Forget Me Not Photos, we understand the value of legacy and believe you should be able to protect, enjoy and share your life experiences. Digitizing your memories is not only about convenience and accessibility, but also about safeguarding them for the future. Your irreplaceable moments deserve to be preserved. How will my digitized content be returned?

You have the option to have your digitized memories returned on a thumb drive or transferred to a private cloud storage site. Contents transferred to a cloud storage site will remain for 60 days, until which they will expire and you will need to download them to your own internal or external hard drive. Videos can also be transferred to DVD, but it is not our preferred method nor recommended, as DVD is considered old media and will require additional conversion to digital format (.mp4) if trying to play without the use of a DVD player. A $35 fee for thumb drive or cloud storage transfer will be added for each project.

What if I want to have copyrighted material digitized?

In general, you have complete, unlimited rights to copy and share films, videos, photographs, audio recordings, and documents that you or members of your close family have taken and or created yourselves. This is also true of publicly available materials like copies of census, birth, or marriage records. We can digitize, copy, and save these materials for you without any limitation or concern, and you do not need to complete this form for us to digitize these items. However, commercial movies, television programs, televised sporting events, recorded or written books, commercial radio programs or podcasts, professional photographic images, professionally produced art, and other intellectual property creations are subject to copyright laws under which it is illegal to make copies without the explicit permission of the copyright owner (e.g., professional photographer, videographer, television studio, film production company, athletic league, etc.). If you would like us to digitize third party copyrighted material(s), we will ask you to sign a Copyright Waiver Form.
